The Grain Silo Mural Project is Seeking Funds!
The Grain Silo Mural Project will result in the installation of a life-like mural on the 110’ Grain Silo located along Hawkeye Avenue in the Northwest River District. Guido van Helten will install the mural. Guido is a qualified muralist that has completed a number of works around the world. A resident of Australia, Guido has already visited Fort Dodge twice to document (through photographs) the day-to-day life of people in our Community, which are the images displayed in his proposal. To view more of his work and design process visit www.guidovanhelten.com or search Guido van Helten at www.youtube.com.
The installation of a mural of this magnitude will result in a cost of $132,000, with associated amenities that include a trail loop, lighting, and benches estimated at around $36,000. To date the Public Art Coalition has raised $135,000 through grants and donations for this project. We are seeking your assistance! You have the opportunity to be recognized as an Art Enthusiast, Art Connoisseur, or Art Visionary for this project by making a tax-deductible donation to this project. In addition to other benefits, as outlined on the pledge form, you or your company will be recognized on a sponsor plaque that will be situated near the mural.
To show your support for our community and this project, please provide a check payable to the Community Foundation – Grain Silo Project Fund; and mail to the Fort Dodge Community Foundation at 24 N 9th Street, Suite B, Fort Dodge IA, 50501.
