Floyd of Rosedale Ribbon Cutting

Join the Floyd of Rosedale Planning Committee in kicking-off the planning and fundraising efforts for the Floyd of Rosedale sculpture at a Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, April 18th at 4:00 p.m. at the North 32nd Street Roundabout!  Learn more about the project and story, and hear remarks from Chuck Long, former University of Iowa Football Player; Matt Bemrich, Mayor of Fort Dodge; and Dave Flattery, Project Chair and City Council Member of Fort Dodge.

Seeking Proposals - Floyd of Rosedale Creative Interpretation

The Floyd of Rosedale Planning Committee is seeking to commission an artist to design and install a sculpture that serves as a creative interpretation of Floyd of Rosedale within an 85' diameter roundabout located near the historic site of the Rosedale Family Farm.  Please review and respond to our Request for Proposals no later than 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.

Guido van Helten Meet & Greet

Meet internationally renowned muralist, Guido van Helten. Mr. van Helten approaches mural projects using photography and community engagement to uncover the human stories and site-specific nature and connections to place, and has completed many works throughout the world.  Come have an informal conversation with the artist and other attendees, and check out slideshows and videos of his past works.

The Grain Silo Mural Will Continue

From late-October to mid-November, Guido van Helten will take a break away from the Fort Dodge area, but work on the Grain Silo Mural is expected to continue the third week of November until the mural is complete.

Grain Silo Muralist Begins Work in Fort Dodge

The Fort Dodge Public Art Coalition is excited to announce that Guido van Helten has arrived in Fort Dodge to install the mural on the 110’ grain silo located in the Northwest River District!  The initial stages of his time in Fort Dodge will consist of additional outreach to finalize details and photography for his design, which will then lead to the installation of the artwork over the following weeks.

The Fort Dodge City Council approved a contract with artist Guido van Helten at their regular meeting on Monday, June 11th.  The project is one of several tactics established as part of the City’s Northwest River District Revitalization Plan.
